Welcome to HeightLab ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit heightcalculator.wiki or use the height calculator and unit converter.
1. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser
The normal height calculator workflow performs its arithmetic locally in your browser. Parent heights, the selected child-sex adjustment, and converter values are used to calculate the displayed result and are not intentionally sent to a calculation server, placed in the page URL, or submitted through an account system.
The site does not need you to create an account or upload a measurement file. Your browser, extensions, operating system, and network can still affect what happens on your device, so do not treat local processing as a guarantee of complete device privacy.
2. Information we may collect
- Technical information such as browser type, operating system, language, device category, timestamps, referring page, and approximate region.
- Security and hosting information such as IP address, request details, error records, and identifiers needed to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable.
- Support information that you choose to send by email, including your email address, browser details, calculator context, and the contents of your message.
- Advertising or analytics information when those optional services are active, as described below and in the providers' own notices.
We do not intentionally collect a health profile from calculator entries. The homepage is designed to use the values temporarily in the page session and does not require those values to be stored in an account or database.
3. How we use information
- Deliver, maintain, and improve the website and its calculator interface.
- Monitor performance, accessibility, reliability, and technical errors.
- Protect the website and visitors from spam, abuse, malicious traffic, and security incidents.
- Respond to corrections, accessibility reports, questions, and support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce the site's Terms of Service.
We use technical information for site operation and improvement. We do not use the normal calculator flow to make decisions about a person, provide medical advice, or build a personal growth profile.
4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
The site may use cookies, local browser storage, or similar technologies that are necessary for hosting, security, preferences, measurement, or reliable page operation. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although blocking some technologies may affect optional features or make measurements less accurate.
If Google AdSense or another Google advertising product displays ads on this site, Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, browser or device identifiers, and similar information to serve, measure, limit, or personalize advertising, subject to applicable law and consent requirements. Review Google's partner-sites data-use policy and available Google ad settings for more information.
Microsoft Clarity is enabled on this site to understand how visitors use the calculator and other pages. It may use first-party and third-party cookies and similar technologies to collect website-usage information such as page views, navigation, clicks, scrolling, and other interaction signals for behavioral metrics, heatmaps, session replay, site improvement, and security. Microsoft processes this information under its own privacy terms; see Microsoft's Privacy Statement. Clarity documents that input-box content is masked by default, but you should still avoid entering sensitive information.
Clarity's consent requirements can vary by visitor location. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, cookies and some measurement features may require consent and may be limited when consent is not available.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with hosting, security, email, analytics, advertising, or legal service providers when reasonably necessary to operate the website, respond to a request, prevent abuse, measure performance, serve advertising, or comply with law.
We may disclose information when required by legal process, to protect the rights and safety of the site or its users, or as part of a business transfer. We aim to limit each disclosure to information reasonably necessary for the stated purpose.
6. Retention
Calculator values are normally held only in the active browser page while the calculation is displayed. The site is not a personal measurement database or long-term storage service.
Hosting and security logs, support emails, and records created by advertising or analytics providers may be retained for as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, service operation, reporting, legal compliance, or the provider's documented purposes. Retention varies by record type and service provider.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain personal information. You may also be able to withdraw consent, control cookies, or limit personalized advertising through browser and provider settings. Contact [email protected] to make a request. We may need enough information to verify the request and locate relevant records.
You can avoid sending calculator values in support messages if they are not needed to explain a problem. If you used only the calculator and did not contact us, there may be little or no personal content for us to identify beyond ordinary technical records or data held by a third-party provider.
8. Children's privacy
HeightLab is a general-audience website and does not knowingly request personal information from children through a registration flow. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can review the request and delete information where appropriate.
9. External links and third-party services
The homepage may link to medical, educational, or growth-chart references. External sites and services have their own privacy practices, security controls, and terms. We do not control those practices, so review a third party's notices before submitting information there.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to operate the site, reduce common security risks, and protect information under our control. No website or browser can promise perfect security. Keep your browser and device updated, and avoid entering sensitive information into any service unless you understand how it will be handled.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the site changes its hosting, calculator behavior, support workflow, analytics, or advertising. We will update the effective date and page content when changes are made. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies to future use.
